2023 Poppy painting

 2023 Poppy painting on pilkington tile which did have another early pi8cture i had done.

some black paint and a few hours later i started with no idea what to do this year.

luckily the acrylic paints hadnt dried up 

so here it is

 not painted in along time , but it was time to do the poppy painting for the year 

inspired by a stock photo on the internet 

6x6 pilkington tile done in acrylics

Warren Inn Dartmoor painting 17th Feb

 seen a photo of the Warren Inn on Dartmoor and thought it would make a good landscape oil painting . 

so i set out to do it on a piece of ply 24x10 i also backed the ply with some wood the make it more stable 

thats the cropped original 

here is my interpretation

Poppy day painting 2020

 my annual poopy day painting on a 6 inch sq pilkington tile in acrylic.

a lack of painting makes it harder every year to paint for this task

this one was very dark on the sky and horizon to reflect the mood of distant wars

and then the bright poppies and flowers of today , the painting is very dark to look at
until it has light on it and then it shines.

Lest we forget....

Poppy day Nov 10th 2019

in tradition with prev years i broke the paints out and turned the heating on in the caravan to do an acrylic poppy painting on a pilkington tile i had remaining
inspired from a poppy photo i had seen on facebook by a friend who had posted it.

on nice snny days its nice to sit in the caravan with the windows open and a breeze going.
sometimes you wait for inspiration to do a painting then suddenly on the spur of the moment u just get on and paint something.
this was inspired by a sailing friend who goes running, he took a picture which i thought would be good to paint  so here is a more colorful version of it .
